A summary of this path follows:
I had the fortune of being the first child. My brother did not come along for another four and a half years. I had my grandparents and an aunt as well as my parents to raise me. My mom had a ballet studio where I learned gymnastics, and various dance routines. I was cute with curly hair. There were mostly girls around and I got a lot of attention. My brother came into our lives and things changed. He was cute and younger. He needed a lot of attention so there was less for me. I became “bratty”. Not so unusual. I had to find a solution to this shift in focus. School came along and gave me other interests. I had to adapt to a new way of relating. My cuteness was not tolerated by my peers. I was smart so became very quiet and studious. I found that I could get good grades and also learn a lot by listening. I retracted into a listening shell. We moved to a new city when I was 7 and my mom gave up her ballet studio. I had continued my dance work but had found out that my peers at school thought it was sissy stuff.
My next door neighbor at the new home was a retired mechanical engineer with over a hundred patents. His wife was a Christian Scientist. I had two unique and wonderful experiences with them. I learned that you could heal your body without doctors. I learned a lot about electronics and engineering. My brother was now fulfilling my mom’s desire for creativity in the arts. He showed promise even at the age of four on the piano. I had not been interested in piano, violin or other creative arts but was fascinated with small energy such as electrons or healing with prayer. My neighbors became my refuge. A near death experience due to double pneumonia at the age of 12 enforced my viewpoint that I was a SOUL that had a body. I made the decision to heal the body from the top corner of the room instead of going toward the white light and ending this life.
I learned Calculus from my engineering mentor next door, Rex Wells at the age of 14. I could make a drawing using ink pens and was working part time at a radio and TV store. I got my drivers license and by the time I was 16, I owned three cars. I could always keep at least one of them running. I went to college at the age of 17 but did not complete my first seamster. The professors did not know how to apply the information they were teaching so I dropped out and went to Radio and TV Trade School much to my parents disappointment. After a while the instructor there were very impressed with my theoretical understanding as well as my practical work. They told me that I was college material. I told them that I had tried that and did not want to relate to a bunch of theoretical jerks. They introduced my to Clarence Radius who was the chairman of the Electronic Engineering Department at Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo, CA. It was a great match for me The motto of the school was “Learn By Doing”. I was on my was to becoming an engineer who could apply what he learned to life.
I majored in Electronic Engineering and ROTC. I wanted to become a Missile Officer. I got married between my junior and senior year and accepted a Regular Army commission with my first tour of duty in Fairbanks Alaska. I was a Guided Missile Officer but the missiles were not there yet so I ended up at an Anti Aircraft site. I was able to receive the Guided Missiles themselves as an Ordnance Officer prior to leaving Alaska. Along the way, I ended up in the hospital with swollen knees and was told that I would never walk again. When the MD told me that, I immediately got out of bed and stumbled over to the bathroom where I relieved myself and stumbled back to bed. He looked at me and said “Didn’t that hurt?” I said yes, it hurt a lot but that I had walked and I knew that I would walk normally again. After some negotiation, he agreed to give me 6 months to get back on duty. I made it and have been walking for over 40 years. I knew that with intention and prayer I could make it. I was also very fortunate to have a fellow officer who was a Mormon. He told me about Adelle Davis and Lindberg Nutrition in Southern California where I could order supplements. I changed my diet, took supplements and exercised as soon as I could. Another step on the path to becoming a Wellness Engineer. We lost our second son in Alaska due to a shortage of nursing staff. He went full term and looked healthy but did not make it home. He had chocked on his own saliva.
A new chapter opened up when I turned down my next assignment which was to get my masters and doctorate at Columbia in the Guided Missile field. I thought family was more important and my wife insisted on returning to Southern California to have our third child. I joined The Ralph M Parsons company as an engineer working for an engineer who had moved up to the management level while I was in Alaska. He had been my boss in my summer jobs. My new boss was an engineer who found out that I did not communicate as well as he wanted. I enjoyed taking the course in communications he suggested. I studied subtle energy and the use of instrumentation to measure what was occurring in the body as a way of knowing what was happening on the soul level. I also learned that I could sense subtle energy in others without the use of instrumentation. It was for me a feeling. Others just know or see something while still others seem to get phrases or words. Free Soul calls these the four psychic senses. I learned about Free Soul in the early nineties.Prior to that I had met a lady who was working with channeled energy and spirit guides She taught Moneca and I to channel and to work with our guides. Free Soul refined that work and made it more useful. This lady had also taught us Yohti which involves healing with sounds as done in Tibet and among the Creek Indians in the US. We also learned a great deal from Gary Douglas with his Access Energy for Transformation work. We continue to learn.
